Holidaying like a pensioner!

I love seaside resorts. I was brought up in a seaside town, albeit not one you could call a 'resort' as such (the beach certainly wouldn't get a blue flag, and is probably more sewer-water than salt-water.)
I'm just back from a trip to LLandudno in Wales, and thoroughly enjoyed it... fish & chips, walking along the pier, seaside amusement arcades, homemade ice-cream etc.etc. It's not exactly a rollicking, mad 18-30 style holiday, but it's pretty fab. With the temperatures at 26c, who needs the med!

The seagulls let it down a bit though, huge and nasty creatures they were. They scared the life out of me by landing on our b&b windowsill - they would have came right in if it hadn't been for my screams & my partners swift closing of the window.
Not sure how I feel about the use of birds of prey in neighbouring Rhyl, to keep the seagulls numbers down... to be honest, a lot of them where bigger than any hawks, so I don't know if it's much of a deterrent!
